ABOUT ACM AND SIGGRAPH
ABOUT
Founded in 1947, the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is the world's largest and most prestigious scientific and educational computing society. One of its key roles is to connect computing professionals worldwide and to provide a platform for professionals, educators, and researchers in the field of computing to advance knowledge, share ideas, and collaborate on emerging challenges in technology and innovation.
One of the ways that ACM does this is through the hosting of premier conferences in various computing disciplines, providing platforms for sharing breakthroughs and innovations. ACM also publishes numerous highly respected journals, conference proceedings, and magazines, including the ACM Digital Library.
Within ACM, there are also specialized communities called Special Interest Groups (SIGs).
SIGGRAPH is one such community. SIGGRAPH stands for the Special Interest Group on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques. It is one of the most prominent and influential groups within ACM, dedicated to advancing the field of computer graphics, interactive techniques, and related disciplines
